Kick 2 Movie Review

Kick 2 is a sequel to the 2009 hit film Kick, which introduced the character of Kalyan, a man who seeks thrill and excitement in everything he does. In Kick 2, Kalyan's son Robin Hood inherits his father's personality and also becomes a doctor who travels to India to sell his ancestral property. However, he falls in love with Chitra, a writer from a small village called Vilaspur, and gets involved in a conflict with the local landlord Solomon Singh Thakur.

The film is directed by Surender Reddy and produced by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram under the banner of N.T.R. Arts. The music is composed by S. Thaman and the cinematography is done by Manoj Paramahamsa. The film was released on August 21, 2015 and received mixed reviews from critics and audiences. The film was praised for its comedy, action and performances, but criticized for its length, screenplay and climax.


Plot Summary

The film begins with Kalyan Krishna visiting Kalyan in Virginia, where he has settled with his wife Naina. Kalyan tells him about his son Robin Hood, who is a doctor and a thrill seeker like him. Robin moves to Hyderabad to reclaim his land that was grabbed by a gangster named Settlement Durga. He stays in the house of Pandit Ravi Teja, an astrologer who works for Durga. Robin annoys Pandit with his antics and also rejects the love proposal of Chitra, who is Pandit's niece and an aspiring writer.

Meanwhile, a group of villagers from Vilaspur follow Robin, believing that he is their savior who will free them from the tyranny of Solomon Singh Thakur, a cruel landlord who oppresses them. They kidnap Chitra and take her to Vilaspur, hoping that Robin will follow them. Robin finds out that Chitra is from Vilaspur and decides to go there to meet her. He also learns that his grandfather was a benevolent king of Vilaspur who was killed by Thakur's ancestors.

In Vilaspur, Robin faces many challenges from Thakur and his men, but also wins the hearts of the villagers with his kindness and bravery. He realizes that he loves Chitra and decides to stay with her. He also vows to protect Vilaspur from Thakur's evil plans. However, he faces a dilemma when he learns that his father Kalyan has been kidnapped by Durga in Hyderabad and demands Robin's land as ransom. Robin has to choose between saving his father or saving Vilaspur.
